Rick’s race career started out like many on grass tracks circ 1972. He raced bangers at High Wycombe for a team known as the “High Wycombe Red Devils”, a few years later he changed to asphalt racing at Brafield , Harringay and Arena essex amongst many other tracks. Later joining the “tigers” and travelling nationwide racing mainly A60′s and Rover 90′s.
In 1980 Rick changed from Bangers to Hot rods , purchasing a Mk1 escort from Dave Fry a car nick named the tank which he began to race at Standlake.

In 1984 Rick had a major operation due to back injuries both on and off the track, whilst not racing Rick was Dave Fry’s n01 spanner man.



In 1996 Rick returned to racing as 121 PRI lightning rod at AreanEssex , which he raced for two years before moving to Outlaw Hot Rods in the ex Mike Phillips Peugeot 205. He continued racing in that formula for around another nine years.

Rick made his latest change in 2008 when he purchased the ex Bill Groom Mk 1 Escort , built to participate in the classic hot rods.

Throughout the years Rick has had a long standing relationship in the company of Dave Fry and Paul Bowring , who just happen also to race in the classic hot rods these days.
