Just the three cars made it to the raceway on Saturday night . Heat one came out and one of the three 43 Damien Corrigan dropped before the start leaving 976 Clive Richardson an 97 Joel Richardson to put on the performance for the crowd . Just 2 laps in and 97 Joel developed a issue and retired , never the less 976 Clive Richardson completed to the race for victory.
Heat two all three made it for the race , they were joined by stock rods and started ½ a lap apart . Something quite common if two formulas are on low numbers , for me I enjoy commentating on the 2 races in 1. 43 Corrigan got off to a early lead whilst both Richardson’s gave chase having got past him it was Joel 97 that fended off Clive 976 to take the chequered flag.
The final was run in a similar format with a larger gap between the 2 Richardson Mk2 Escorts on the Mk1 of Corrigan of which I must say the paint job makes it look like a Avenger Tiger at first glance.
43 Corrigan made a good start holding lead until lap 7 when the fast paced 976/97 train rolled through on the inside . A few more laps ticked off and 97 Joel Richardson again developed issues and retired . This left 976 Clive to take the flag and 43 Damien promoted back up to second place.
A fair nights racing for the boys , the track looks very suitable for classics a few more visitors will produce some cracking racing.
